Sewing 101: 5 week series $300/personIn this class we will get you sewing in no time! You will start by learning and practicing machine and bobbin threading, sewing straight, curved, and angled lines, different seam finishes and what they are appropriate for, inserting an invisible and regular zipper. We will discuss how to read and draft basic patterns. We will then work on a basic woven tank top. BOOK HERE
SHIBORI DYEING $75/person
In this class we will explore different techniques and materials for Shibori Dyeing. Shibori is the ancient traditional Japanese resist dyeing technique used traditionally with Indigo dye. We will use silk swatches and cotton swatches and a few different color dyes. Please wear clothes that can be stained, dyeing is messy. Book HERE
Air Purifying Plants for Urban Environments $45/person
A great way to liven your apartment and help cleanse the air is with beautiful foliage. Especially needed in urban locations where there isn’t as much plant life. Easy to care for, these plants cleanse the air of chemicals and bring gorgeous colors and textures to your deco. You will learn all about these plants and which type of plants work best for your environment. You’ll leave this workshop with a variety of 2-3 air cleansing plants in your choice of a selection of pots. We will also teach you all about how to care for these hard to kill plant wonders.

Winter Succulent Terrarium Arrangement $45/person
Come join us for a special winter workshop featuring a much loved house plant, the succulent! You will learn how to create a one of a kind terrarium, using a provided selection of glass terrariums, a wide variety of succulents, as well as all the care tips you can imagine! We will be bringing lots of pretty stones and sand/organic potting soil so your new succulent can live in style and comfort, and provide your home with life throughout the winter.
Candle Making: Create your own scent $40/person
In this workshop, chemist and scent expert, Juan Cotto, will teach you how to create a your own custom scent using all natural botanical extracts to incorporate into your own handmade candle using soy wax. Various glass and wood candle containers will be provided for you to choose from. We will also provide fresh botanicals, such as rosemary, thyme, lavender and other greens to imbed in the wax to release its scent as it burns. You will leave the class with your very own handmade candle with a custom scent created by you!

The ultimate skill of a fashion designer is to make your own patterns. These patterns will give you the freedom to create any kind of garment you want. This 2-day intensive will teach you the fundamentals of pattern drafting. You will learn about the tools used and create your own pattern blocks.
Basic Clothing Alterations $40Bring in that article of clothing you keep meaning to fix. We will show you some basic alterations so you can save your clothing previously doomed for goodwill. Alteration demos include basic hems, taking in/letting out seams, sewing buttons, mending holes. Then we will focus on your personal project(s). We utilize both hand sewing and machine sewing. No experience necessary.

In this class we will get you started on learning the skills for knitting your first project and learning to read basic knitting patterns. We will also discuss gauge and yarn/needle sizes.
